SHEER JOY! That is how I would describe this image of my adorable niece, Izzy. I was putting together my cousin’s wedding album and I just had to take a break to post this image. It’s amazing how quickly children grow up. Since my sister and their family live in Chicago, we only get to see Izzy a few times a year and it is really amazing how this little baby has grown so quickly… I miss her. I couldnt choose a favorite between the black and white picture vs color so I posted both. Last year we spent Memorial Day weekend in Chicago and she only knew a few words. Now, she speaks so intelligently you would think she was a lot older than she really is. Pictures from last years Memorial day weekend HERE. This year, we won’t get to see Izzy, but I wanted to post something about her.

Most recent picture of Izzy still loving those bubbles!

We photographed Sharon, Nathan and Aiden at Pine Lake Park in Sammamish, WA. Sharon is sister’s with Angela, whose wedding we had the honor of being a part of. Sharon wanted to have some pictures of Aiden before his baby teeth fell out. The boys are so full of personality and energy. Aren’t the boys just adorable? They were really fun to work with and you can see how happy the boys are with their mom! Too bad daddy had to work that day. My main camera of choice is the Canon 5D. It’s a 12 megapixel full frame camera. It’s a beauty to work with and I love it. My wife usually shoots with the Canon 30D. She gets better reach with that camera because of the crop factor and she always gets some amazing candid pictures! Anyway, I’ll talk about cameras later. I wanted to talk about how software makes a big difference. I’ve always shot RAW + JPG format. It can be time consuming to convert every single RAW image into JPG so I usually only convert my favorites. It might be hard to see the differences in output from these small images, but RAW images converted to JPG offer many advantages. I’ve always converted using Silkypix, but lately I’ve been using Adobe Lightroom and I like it a lot.

I think I like the Lightroom version with the curve adjustment the best. The best thing about Lightroom is it’s a better workflow!
I just totally love these two pictures Rebekah took of this young ring boy at a wedding we did at Kiana Lodge last year. Look how long his natural eye lashes are!
