Congratulations Kevin and Alice. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day. It was an honor to meet your family and friends and we pray God would bless your marriage. You guys made making beautiful wedding photographs look easy.
Sarah… thank you for somehow finding us and introducing us to your sister. Your adorable daughter brought so many smiles to my face. It will be so funny when she grows up and realizes how she added “something extra” to this wedding by being herself during the ceremony.
The flower pup was so cute…

What was I doing on 07/07/07? Of course I was shooting a wedding! So were a million other wedding photographers. My friend and photography mentor Dawn Davis’ husband, Bob Davis from Lastoria Foto, was busy shooting one too! Whose? You may have heard of Tony Parker (NBA San Antonio Spurs star) and Eva Longoria (star of Desperate Housewives)! Those two celebrities were wed at Saint-Germain-l’Auxerroix church in Paris and Bob Davis was one of the official wedding photographers! Dawn’s been updating their blog so you can check out what she says at www.lastoriafoto.info.
Here’s a picture of Bob Davis (far right) at work (Photo by Jean-Paul Pelissier/Reuters):

This is what the unofficial photographers aka paparazzi have to do (Photo by Benoit Tessier/Reuters):

As for me, I was happy photographing some celebrities of my own here in Bellevue.

We’ll do a full post about their amazing wedding in the near future, but I just have to share this last picture!
This is Aria (flower girl and niece of Alice) and Enby (8 year old flower pup) as they entered during the processional. SOOO CUTE!

It seems like so many people I know are affected by this thing called cancer. A friend and roommate of mine in college named Kevin was the first person I knew who died from cancer. I still remember those days like it was yesterday. I still think about him every time I hear about cancer. More recently, I’ve been hearing more and more stories of people affected by cancer. Life isn’t just about living, but it’s also about dieing. To everyone who is fighting this unforgiving disease and to everyone who has been affected by it, my prayers are with you.

- Story summary:Katie Kirkpatrick, 21, held off cancer to celebrate the happiest day of her life. Katie had chased cancer, once only to have it return-to clog her lungs and grab hold of her heart. Breathing was difficult now, she had to use oxygen. The pain in her back was so intense it broke through the morphine that was supposed to act as a shield. Her organs were shutting down but it would not stop her from marrying Nick Godwin, 23, who was in love with Katie since 11th grade.
