There’s something about Catholic churches that bring a lot of adjectives to my mind. It seems like every city has at least one magnificent Catholic church that stands tall as a landmark. In Seattle, there are quite a few. I can think of St. James Cathedral as being one of the most beautiful. Another one where we have a wedding scheduled for tomorrow is the Blessed Sacrament Church near the U-District. In the Nisqually earthquake of February 28, 2001 this church was heavily damaged. It was restored and remains one of Seattle’s historic landmarks. You can see it every time you drive by on I-5 in between the UW and Northgate Mall exit. Here’s a few pictures I’ve taken from Blessed Sacrament Church in Seattle.

Scott and Beth got married recently at Seattle’s Kubota Gardens and held their reception at the Palace Ballroom in downtown Seattle. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding in Seattle. Beth and Scott were made for each other and you could really see their love. Beth’s dad, owner of Yockey Communications, had this wonderful tuxedo on with the coolest bow tie. If you’re ever looking to write a book, talk to Ross or Beth and they will take care of everything from concept to product. Also, Scott Jones owns a catering company called Elemental Catering so speak to him if you need any type of catering done. Matt and My (pronounced “Me”) came to us originally to have us record their wedding reception at the top of Seattle’s tallest building, the 76 floor Columbia Tower Club in downtown Seattle. One thing lead to another and we ended up not only doing the video for their wedding reception, but we took wedding engagement pictures for them, photographed a 4 hour bridal portrait shoot and made not just one, but two full wedding albums!
The video clip above is part of the Love Story we created for My and Matt. Their story is unique in that they got married 3 or 4 years ago in California. At the time, they didn’t have a memorable video or album made so they decided to have a second reception here in Seattle with family and friends. You really wouldn’t be able to tell that they had been married for that long. Matt and My are still so sweet to each other and I loved editing this video. The video clips a bit long, but be sure to watch the interview as well as the highlights from Columbia Tower Club. Some of the scenic footage from the top of Columbia Tower is amazing, although this small clip wont do it any justice.
Beth and Scott found us through a business networking site called Biznik, based in Seattle. Biznik is similar to a networking site, my friend James Sun runs, called Zoodango. It is funny how we are all connected and life’s web brings us all together. I wouldn’t have found out about Biznik if one of their leaders wasn’t making some comments about Zoodango on a different blog. Of course, I signed up to both and I’ve received 3 referrals already from Biznik! I have got to say, it works! If you’re a professional in the Seattle area or elsewhere, I encourage you to sign up to both!
Now… Back to Beth and Scott! Beth and Scott are both artists. Scott is a chef who runs a catering business called Elemental Catering and Beth does some really cool design work which you’ve got to see at her website: www.sukiyockey.net
Anyway, I thought it was a compliment that out of all the photographers out there, these artists chose me to be their wedding photographer! How honoring is that! Their wedding is later this month at Kubota Gardens and their reception is at the fabulous Palace Ballroom where Urban Unveiled took place last month. Jessica and David had a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at The Manor in Everett/Lynnwood, WA. Jessica and David chose Nora Jones’ “Come Away With Me” as their music video song and I think it fits perfectly with their wedding. Congratulations Jessica and David and thanks again for your patience.

Susie Hamidi of Susie Hamidi Photography told me about Urban Unveiled. It’s a premier wedding event, organized by Sharlane Chase, Clare Marie, Della Chen, and Sandra Coan, to showcase top local wedding vendors in the Seattle area. Susie’s a VIP so she invited me to come =) It took place on Thursday March 8th at the Palace Ballroom in downtown Seattle. We have a wedding reception in April at the Palace Ballroom so I wanted to check it out. The highlight of the evening, besides talking with my PUG friends (Jeff La Plante and Brian and Jennifer Hartman) was seeing the exquisite wedding gown collection of Luly Yang. Aren’t they wonderful. I was watching the “soon to be brides” that were in attendance watch the beautiful models and I really started to understand how brides must feel in anticipation of their wedding day.

A picture of Luly Yang - top designer for sure.

Thanks Susie… You’re so cool!

Andy and Jennifer got married at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. Jennifer is so beautiful. She looks like a Korean model. And Andy has got to be one of the sweetest guys. He and the groomsmen performed one of the best skits I’ve seen at a wedding and it was so cool. You can see their wedding video clip by clicking on the picture below or HERE.

Myhien originally contacted me from Chicago where she worked as a fashion designer. Ed and Myhien got married at the Space Needle last year. We had the opportunity to take their engagement pictures in downtown Seattle/Pike Place Market. They were such a fun couple to photograph and video. I don’t know if it’s because Ed is from Kentucky, but he was seriously one of the nicest grooms I’ve ever met. He was so polite and friendly. They now reside in Southern California, but I hope to see them again since Myhien referred me her cousin who is getting married in Seattle this summer!

Angela and Kris got married last year in Tacoma, WA at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Their reception was held in the main banquet hall of Temple (Landmark) Theatre. It was a grand wedding. Angela looked so beautiful, elegant, and sassy all at the same time. Kris was like the knight in shining armor getting married to his bride-princess. There are certain people in the world who are always filled with energy and full of life… Kris and Angela are definitely two of those special people. They were such a fun couple to work with. Angela has a well known last name in Tacoma which she shares with her cousin Erik, who I was good friends with in grade school.
Here’s a slide show from their wedding. I will have an awesome music video clip online in the near future.

Here are some of my favorite pictures:
