Greg and Julie are both so photogenic with beautiful smiles. They were introduced to us by Rhona and Bennett, former wedding clients of ours. Their special wedding had to be our most intimate to date and we had a lot of time to take some amazing relaxed wedding portraits. The Salish Lodge was a great location for their wedding and I love the pictures of Snoqualmie Falls in the background. Oh… I almost forgot to mention the sweetest flower girl who was so good all day! Jenny and Joshua’s wedding ceremony took place at Oberlin Church in Steilacoom, WA and their reception was in the Steilacoom Town Hall. I have to thank Robert Lee, my faithful partner and associate who fills in when Rebekah is unavailable. He took some terrific pictures for us.
I’ve had 3 or 4 of my wedding couples tell me this year they met online and I’m starting to be a believer that these online dating companies work! Jenny and Joshua met each other through EHarmony.com.
I normally just put a short blurb at the beginning of these pictures, but I think this wedding might be more fun with some narration.

When we got to the church, Joshua told us Jenny was running a little late… perfectly normal for weddings.
Within 5 minutes though, a white blur came out of no where and ran full speed into the church!

The nice church wedding coordinator stopped Jenny just in time to tell her to slow down and relax. Robert caught the moment below and says it’s his favorite picture of the day.

I guess Jenny’s make up artist didn’t do a good job and Jenny washed all of her make up off! At the moment it wasn’t funny, but we can laugh about it now because Jenny was a beautiful bride. I love this shot. It’s a little tough to tell from the small picture, but Jenny’s face is in despair and I think the look on the woman looking at her is priceless.

That’s where the terrific bridesmaids and friends came in to help Jenny.

A moment for prayer…

and a little make up…

And some M&M chocolates fixed everything…

Jenny’s sister knew everything would be alright…

The guys joined in on the prayer…

Jenny’s mother made her wedding dress!

Jenny’s sister’s face says it all. “I knew it would be perfect.”

Not every groomsmen is so lucky to have two bridesmaids on his arms…

Funny faces and funny fingers =)

Some of Joshua’s friends who traveled from MI, IA, NY and… Bellevue.

They’re so in love… Good job EHarmony!

This wedding party loved… LOVED to dance.

Mai and Tommy got married at Seattle’s Blessed Sacrament Church. It actually felt like two weddings because we photographed their traditional tea ceremony first and after a brief break went to Blessed Sacrament for the wedding ceremony at the church. The most memorable thing for me was how fun the wedding party was. They were joking around the whole day all the while being helpful to the bride and groom whenever they needed it. Also, the Chinese food we ate was good! Yum… Thanks Mai and Tommy. It was a beautiful day.

Congratulations Kevin and Alice. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day. It was an honor to meet your family and friends and we pray God would bless your marriage. You guys made making beautiful wedding photographs look easy.
Sarah… thank you for somehow finding us and introducing us to your sister. Your adorable daughter brought so many smiles to my face. It will be so funny when she grows up and realizes how she added “something extra” to this wedding by being herself during the ceremony.
The flower pup was so cute…

There’s something about Catholic churches that bring a lot of adjectives to my mind. It seems like every city has at least one magnificent Catholic church that stands tall as a landmark. In Seattle, there are quite a few. I can think of St. James Cathedral as being one of the most beautiful. Another one where we have a wedding scheduled for tomorrow is the Blessed Sacrament Church near the U-District. In the Nisqually earthquake of February 28, 2001 this church was heavily damaged. It was restored and remains one of Seattle’s historic landmarks. You can see it every time you drive by on I-5 in between the UW and Northgate Mall exit. Here’s a few pictures I’ve taken from Blessed Sacrament Church in Seattle.

Tony and Trinh’s wedding had it all! A traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony, a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony and a crazy wild wedding reception at the New Kowloon Seafood Restaurant in the International District of Seattle. Their wedding ceremony was at the St. Pius X Catholic Church in Mountlake Terrace.
This is only a preview of some of their amazing wedding pictures. We’ll post their wedding slideshow in the near future.
We really enjoyed taking Tony and Trinh’s wedding pictures and engagement pictures. They treated us like family. Tony’s humor and Trinh’s smile were always keeping us on our toes. They even invited us to sit with them at their dinner table during the reception which was a first, but knowing how much of a people person Tony and Trinh are it didn’t surprise us. We’ll have their slide show up with pictures from the reception in a few weeks…

Are these not the most adorable little flower girls!

What was I doing on 07/07/07? Of course I was shooting a wedding! So were a million other wedding photographers. My friend and photography mentor Dawn Davis’ husband, Bob Davis from Lastoria Foto, was busy shooting one too! Whose? You may have heard of Tony Parker (NBA San Antonio Spurs star) and Eva Longoria (star of Desperate Housewives)! Those two celebrities were wed at Saint-Germain-l’Auxerroix church in Paris and Bob Davis was one of the official wedding photographers! Dawn’s been updating their blog so you can check out what she says at www.lastoriafoto.info.
Here’s a picture of Bob Davis (far right) at work (Photo by Jean-Paul Pelissier/Reuters):

This is what the unofficial photographers aka paparazzi have to do (Photo by Benoit Tessier/Reuters):

As for me, I was happy photographing some celebrities of my own here in Bellevue.

We’ll do a full post about their amazing wedding in the near future, but I just have to share this last picture!
This is Aria (flower girl and niece of Alice) and Enby (8 year old flower pup) as they entered during the processional. SOOO CUTE!

A few detail shots and some nice silhouettes from Frank and Tracy’s wedding at Echo Bay Chapel on Fox Island. It was a rainy June day, but that didn’t stop it from being a beautiful wedding. The most memorable part for me was the emotional ceremony where Frank and Tracy shared their vows | love story.

I had the honor of photographing my cousin’s wedding last year. I remember I was so excited that I was going to photograph my own cousins wedding. She has always been such a good cousin and I think as she gets older, I’m realizing how big her heart is. If I start to think back, I have so many fond early memories of growing up in America, in large part, due to my cousin and her family. Pictured below is my first Christmas in America. I remember spending the night at their house and looking out the window thinking I saw Santa bring me presents. That first Christmas I received a cowboy vest and toy guns. I don’t remember what Agatha received, but it looks like I want it!

I have other great memories of my cousin. I learned how to ride a bike at their old house in Spanaway, WA. We used to go swimming together and even took trips to New York and a cool camping trip to Crater Lake. Our families used to do all kinds of things together and have these large family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at their house during the holidays. I remember one 4th of July weekend at their house, one of the fireworks buzzed into their garage and caused quite a commotion… I could go on forever with these little stories.
Anyway, back to the wedding. Their wedding was held in Federal Way at St. Vincent de Paul Church. She got married to Joe and I think he is perfect for her. You could really tell how much he loves her.
Here are some pictures my wife, cousin, and I took:

This was the first look Joe was going to have of his bride… guess who cried first?

I love this picture…

Scott and Beth got married recently at Seattle’s Kubota Gardens and held their reception at the Palace Ballroom in downtown Seattle. It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding in Seattle. Beth and Scott were made for each other and you could really see their love. Beth’s dad, owner of Yockey Communications, had this wonderful tuxedo on with the coolest bow tie. If you’re ever looking to write a book, talk to Ross or Beth and they will take care of everything from concept to product. Also, Scott Jones owns a catering company called Elemental Catering so speak to him if you need any type of catering done.
